“Prior to Aggregated Net Metering – also called Net Energy Metering Aggregation (NEMA) by PG&E – solar power generation was a good investment for many businesses in California,” notes Stover. “But for those with multiple meters/service points and/or location, the previous ‘one-solar-array for-each-meter’ requirement was a significant obstacle. But now, with the ability of Aggregated Net Metering to offset multiple meters via a single, centralized solar power system, a huge opportunity has opened up.”

Stover continues: “Most operations can see benefits, but the rules around Aggregated Net Metering tend to work most in favor of Ag operations. However, there are restrictions, limitations, and requirements that businesses need to understand and plan for in order to make the most of this unique and important opportunity.”
